Decision details

The NGN contract was agreed for a period of 18 months from 10th April 2015, with the option to extend for a further 18 months. This report covers the approval to invoke the extension.

1.         That this report be exempt from disclosure by virtue of the Local Government Act 1972 Schedule 12A, Part 1, paragraph 3 (as amended), in that it contains information relating to the financial or business affairs of any particular person (including the authority holding that information).

2.         That the Cabinet Member for Finance and Corporate Services approved the actioning of the extension period of the Next Generation Network contract, to Virgin Media Business for a period running from 10^th October 2016 until 9^th April 2018

3.         That the Cabinet Member for Finance and Corporate Services noted that during the extension period subject to 3 months’ notice, the Council can terminate any individual service provided under the contract or the whole contract and that the actioning of any such termination has no further financial liability to the Council beyond the 3 months’ notice period.

To ensure the Council has necessary facilities for data communications required to support business operations.
