Purpose:

Award Report for:
a) Residual Waste Treatment and Disposal Contract
b) Dry Recyclables Reprocessing and Marketing Contract
c) Food Waste Treatment and Disposal Contract
d) Agreement for the provision of a public rubbish tip

Decision:

1.    That the report be not for publication by virtue of paragraph 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12a of the Local Government Act 1972 in that it relates to information relating to the financial or business affairs of any particular person (including the authority holding that information).

 

2.    That the Residual Waste Treatment, Transfer and Haulage Contract be awarded to the successful bidder for a period of six and a half years commencing on September 16th 2017.

 

3.    That the Dry Recyclables Treatment and Marketing Contract be awarded to the successful bidder for a period of three and a half years commencing on September 16th 2016.

 

4.    That the Food Waste Treatment Contract be awarded to the successful bidder for a period of three and a half years commencing on September 16th 2016.

 

5.    That an Inter Authority Agreement (IAA) be agreed with Western Riverside Waste Authority for the provision of a public tip for a 10 year period commencing on September 16th 2016.   

 

6.    That the Executive Director for City Management and Communities be authorised to confirm and clarify outstanding aspects of the successful bidder’s Final Tenders and the IAA in consultation with the Cabinet Member and to then conclude the contract on the terms set out in the report.

 

 

The Council’s waste disposal contracts are due to expire soon and new arrangements need to be put in place.

 

The three contracts and Inter-Authority Agreement provide value for money high quality solutions for the statutory waste disposal functions required.
