Cabinet Member approval sought to approve the revised Procurement Code.

1.            That the Cabinet Member for Finance and Corporate Services approved the new Procurement Code (version 2.0) as set out in Appendix 1 of the report.

2.            That the Cabinet Member for Finance and Corporate Services delegated authority to the Chief Procurement Officer to make any future editorial changes to the Procurement Code, having first consulted with the Cabinet Member.

Reasons for Decision 

The purpose for the current review of the Procurement Code has been to:-

·        Update the existing code in line with amendments to legislation

·        Make the document more user friendly and remove unnecessary commentary not specific to procurement, so it is clear to those Officers that need to follow the Procurement Code

·        Focus the document on what officers need to do as opposed to how they should do it, encouraging use and consultation with Procurement Services if unsure.
