Purpose:

Cabinet Member approval sought.

Decision:

1.         That this report be exempt from disclosure by virtue of the Local Government Act 1972 Schedule 12A, Part 1, paragraph 3 (as amended), in that it contains information relating to the financial or business affairs of any particular person (including the authority holding that information).

2.         That the Cabinet Member for Housing approved:

 

2.1       The procurement strategy for the part replacement of cladding to 6 blocks known as Little Venice Towers. 

 

2.2       The direct award of a contract for cladding works as set out in this report, to the preferred bidder for the total sum as set out in the report.

 

2.3       A waiver of section 3.19.4 of the Council’s Procurement Code to issue a Letter of Intent as referred to in 2.4 below.

 

2.4       The issue of Letter of Intent to allow order of materials and to commence enabling works on site, of which the value of this letter will be capped at the amount detailed in the report.

 

2.5       The direct award of a contract for waking watch services to the preferred bidder for the total sum as set out in the report.

 

2.6       A provisional allowance as set out in the report that will be used to fund various professional fees incurred in direct relation to these works, for example. the procurement of fire engineers and cladding specialists.

 

 

Reasons for Decision 

 

The decisions are required following directive from the Department of Communities and Local Government for all local authorities to identify blocks over 18m that have an Aluminium Composite Material (ACM) installed by form of cladding.
